Changes

So since coming back from Israel we've had a lot of changes. Gavi's gotten too big for his infant car seat (the snap and go) so we've had to move onto a BIGGER and better things. If this were the summer, and we didn't have to deal with coats and sweaters, I'm sure we could milk the Graco a few more weeks. We've also started Gavi on solids. He loves Apples, Peaches, Pears, Bananas, and Berries. But NOT and I repeat NOT Apricots! Being the cheap and deceiving mother that I am, I didn't want to waste the entire jar (which I paid a whopping 55 cents for). I tried to trick him by mixing a little apples sauce in there. Nope he would not have it. "Mommy why are you doing this to me?!?!" he said. Yes he really said it. Ha take that Yitzy, his first word was mommy!!.
I digress. Anyway, more changes....
We got a high chair to go with his solids. Gavi has also started to pull himself up into a standing position. Although he has not yet mastered the most important part of this task... staying that way. With a little encouragement from his loving parents I have no doubt he'll get the idea.
Until next time.

Setting the Record Staight

So since coming back from Israel we are still getting used to sleeping through the night on our own. Or should I say Gavi is. When we were in the Holy Land, Gavi slept with me the entire visit. Now we're working on breaking that habit but no such luck. Any suggestions?
I love my sister dearly but the picture on her blog is copy. WE were the first to do the feet. I know Shira I am sorry for bursting your bubble. But it must be popped! Here's the original version....
Love to all.

From the Holy Land and Back Again...

Well, I'd love to tell you that Gavi, as predicted was an angel on the plane. All the passengers cooed and awwed over him. I have a big fat NOPE to say to that. We had 2 flights to take. Newark to Paris. Paris to Tel Aviv. Ask me how long gavi slept the whole trip? Go on ask me. About 1 hour max. He wore himself out with the crying 20 minutes before landing each flight. Thank G-d my mother was with me to ease my sanity. With about 9 hours of crying under his belt, 3 hours of roaming through the Paris airport, and one lost piece luggage later... yes we lost a bag... We got into the cab with his car seat and a huge smile crept onto his face. Oh there's the Gavi I gave life to!!! Not the devil child.
We arrived in Beitar and had a great visit with the trip back hanging over my head. I told Yitzy I was making aliya (moving to Israel) so pack up the house and come on over. Alas, he did not. We love White Plains too much to make such a rash decision. But we came home and thanks to Israeli Homeopathic Intervention Gavi was an angel as previously predicted.
Don’t get me wrong, it will still be YEARS before I travel with Gavi alone.

So we’re home now. We started Gavi on the rice cereal diet. He loves it.

It takes some time for the video to appear in the blog so click HERE for the link.

I'm sorry it took so long to update the blog. As you can immagine we're still adjusting. Love to all .
